Ethics International Press publishes quality books on ethics, on behalf of Centre for Business and Public Sector Ethics, Cambridge, UK, for Government officials and politicians, business executives and professional lawyers and accountants, as well as university and college professors and students world-wide:

Government Ethics

Do we uphold ethics in Government by law or by example?

Government Ethics provides the world for the first time with a unique and international body of knowledge on ethics in Government and the public sector. This book contains the views of distinguished experts in Government and academia and includes codes of conduct for Government officials, issues of official secrecy, privacy and military and police ethics. It also discusses conceptual values like 'trust'.

Environmental Ethics

How can corporate responsibility and environmental ethics be encouraged?

Environmental Ethics relates to 'corporate and social responsibility' by Government, industry, the professions and scientists for the community and the environment. The book focuses on standards, quality, environmental audit and 'best practice', as well as ideals towards which countries can aspire to protect the global environment and implement the Rio Treaties. Environmental Ethics integrates, but extends, the subjects of environmental law and sustainable management.

Business Ethics

Why are Social Accountability and Ethical Performance important?
Business Ethics
Business Ethics addresses 'corporate governance', business and professional ethics generally,'corporate and social responsibility' and culture and values in business corporations in a global context. Ethical dilemmas are highlighted by in-depth case-studies.

Supplement to Government Ethics

What are acceptable standards of conduct in government?

Forthcoming

This book complements the main volume Government Ethics by extending the subject to cover new developments on an international scale. The Supplement does not replace Volume I Government Ethics: rather, both are benchmarks in their field and are intended to be acquired and read as companion books.

The British Philosophy of Administration:
A Comparison of British and American Ideas 1900 - 1939

This 'classic' book records the intellectual and practical developments in British public and business administration for the period 1900 - 1939, compared to American developments. The book has a foundation chapter on 'ethics' showing how UK Quaker companies, like Rowntree and Cadbury, set examples in 'corporate responsibility' in that era, many of which are relevant today. Other chapters cover policy-making, organisational theory and bureaucracy.

Espionage and Secrecy
The Official Secrets Acts 1911 - 1989 of the United Kingdom

The complex subject of the UK law, and cases, relating to 'official secrecy' and espionage is analysed in this prize-winning treatise. Bringing the subject up to the latest 1989 Act, the author traces the history of the British Official Secrets Acts from 1911, 1920 and 1939 by indicating why the Acts were passed, what other countries, like Australia, Canada and India, adopted modified versions of the Acts, and which 'spies' were prosecuted and convicted under this UK criminal law.
